Frosone vs OpenCode
Frosone vs OpenCode
OpenCode is a terminal-first open-source agent with BYOK and a $10 subscription. Frosone adds a local model by default and an ad-funded free cloud.
| Frosone | OpenCode | |
|---|---|---|
| Interface | Desktop + terminal | Terminal-first |
| Local model included | Yes | No, bring your own |
| Cloud without a key | Yes, ad-funded | Paid Go plan |
| Price | Free / €7.99 | Free BYOK / $10 |
| License | MIT | MIT |
Both are open source. OpenCode is stronger if you already pay for a model and live in the terminal. Frosone is stronger if you want one install that works offline and does not need a key.
